Art and Design (B.F.A.) - Wood/Furniture Concentration

The B.F.A. concentration in Wood/Furniture Design (WFD) is a studio-intensive program of study that will prepare students to produce professional work focused on technical skills and creative expression with a strong emphasis on concept, craftsmanship, and design. Instruction includes proper operation of tools and equipment, the execution of machine cut wooden joints and finishing techniques, an understanding of the physical properties of wood, furniture construction and joinery, and the process and assemble sequence. Students will gain experience with wood bending techniques, the fiberglass process, and studio practice.
