Library (E. H. Butler Library)
E. H. Butler Library is committed to providing welcoming spaces and high-quality services that support research, learning, and creativity at Buffalo State. Over one million scholarly resources are available from Butler Library, including print books, electronic books, streaming videos, databases, academic journal articles, course reserves, and much more. Laptops and other technology equipment are also available for check-out.
The StudyQuad area of the library is open 24/7 during the fall and spring semesters and features computers with a variety of software applications, scanners, printers, group study rooms, and an assistive technology room. Wireless access is available throughout the library building.
Butler Library is home to a variety of specialized collections, including the Curriculum Materials Lab, which contains books for children and adolescents, and the Creative Studies Library, a one-of-a-kind collection that supports creativity at Buffalo State. Archives & Special Collections houses scores of unique and rare collections of local importance, regional interest, and national significance.
The Academic Commons (coming spring 2020) on the first floor of Butler Library brings together a variety of support services from across campus (advising, tutoring, IT support, and more), creating a “one-stop shop” to meet the academic needs of all students.
